Religious Education

Religious Education Vision Statement

At St. Thomas More, Religious Education is the cornerstone of our Catholic ethos, shaping children’s lives by deepening their understanding of faith and knowing God more clearly. Guided by our mission statement, “We follow Jesus as we learn, play, and pray together,” we provide a broad and nurturing curriculum that fosters spiritual, moral, and academic growth, inspiring every pupil to flourish in all aspects of life.

In addition to the dedicated lesson time, Religious Education is also intricately woven into the daily life of our school, celebrated through hymn practices, prayer, and the Celebration of the Word. It is the foundation of our community, uniting us in faith and purpose.

Our dedicated teachers enrich the learning experience by creating meaningful links between the Religious Education Directory (our RE curriculum) and other subjects such as music, drama, and art, encouraging creativity and a deeper understanding of faith through diverse expressions.

Every child is celebrated as being made in the image and likeness of God. We strive to help our pupils embrace God’s love, fulfil their Christian responsibilities, and show respect and understanding towards individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.

At St. Thomas More, we are committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning; nurturing every child’s unique potential and cultivating a respectful and inclusive environment where all can thrive in faith, knowledge, and community.
